Prior to forming AGW in 2009, Jay worked with CapTrust Financial Advisors, serving as a senior investment consultant from 2001 – 2009. He also worked at First Union Securities (the predecessor to Wells Fargo Securities) as a portfolio analyst and securities trader, and was previously with Salomon Smith Barney.
Jay is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a degree in Economics with honors. He has also taken multiple post-graduate courses at the Wharton School of Business where he completed the Certified Investment Strategist and Certified Investment Management Analyst programs. In addition, Jay has earned designations as a Certified Financial Planner®, Certified Investment Management Analyst® and Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.
Jay is active in the industry and his community as a member of the Investment Management Consultant’s Association® and as a graduate of Leadership Tampa, as well as through Hyde Park United Methodist Church and several other social organizations.
A native Floridian, P. J. is a graduate of the University of Florida where he received a degree in Finance with honors. He later returned to the University of Florida earning a Master of Business Administration. P. J. has also taken multiple post-graduate courses at the Wharton School of Business where he completed the Certified Investment Strategist and CIMA® programs.
Prior to co-founding AGW, P. J. was a senior investment consultant with CapTrust Financial Advisors. He previously worked with First Union Securities (the predecessor to Wells Fargo Securities) as a portfolio analyst and securities trader, and was previously with Salomon Smith Barney. While employed in these roles, P. J. advised numerous foundations, endowments, qualified plans and private clients on investment policy, asset allocation, investment manager research, performance measurement and evaluation.
P. J. is active in the industry and his community through CFA Tampa Bay, the Investment Management Consultant’s Association® (IMCA®), Conn Memorial Foundation, Florida United Methodist Foundation, Florida Department of Financial Services - Division of the Treasury, Hyde Park Methodist Church, and several other social organizations.
Prior to co-founding AGW Capital Advisors, Paul was a managing director with Seabreeze Holdings, Inc., a partner with One Equity Partners (a private equity subsidiary of Banc One, now JP Morgan), and an associate with Continental Illinois Venture Corporation (a private equity subsidiary of Bank of America). Two other formative positions he held were with Parthenon Group, a strategy consulting firm, and Eaton Vance Management, an investment management firm.
Building on his 15 years of private equity and strategy consulting background, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and insight into capitalizing, monitoring and leading private companies. He has invested in (and been a director of) companies with revenues ranging from $25 million to $500 million, within a variety of industries, including telecommunications infrastructure, commercial maintenance and healthcare.
Paul earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston College and his Master of Business Administration from The Tuck School at Dartmouth College. Paul is a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®.
Outside of work and family, Paul has always had a strong desire to give back to his community, and has done this in a significant way as a trustee of the Tampa Bay History Center, Frameworks of Tampa Bay, and the Tampa Preparatory School.
Originally from Queens, New York, Chelly moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2004 with her husband and two children. Chelly earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management with a minor in Human Development with honors from Eckerd College.
Kathy moved on to Merrill Lynch in 1992 where she assumed the role of senior registered client associate – a title that she held for more than seventeen years. While at Merrill Lynch, Kathy was instrumental in establishing the service standards within her team of advisors, which were later adopted by several other Merrill Lynch advisory teams.
Prior to AGW, Ray was a vice president and financial advisor with Cassidy & Company. He previously worked with Franklin Templeton Investments and USAA, advising both institutions and private clients on investment manager research, asset allocation, and insurance portfolios. Ray is a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor®.
Originally from Tampa, Ray is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree in Political Science. Ray resides in South Tampa with his wife and two children.
Prior to AGW, Chase worked as a Credit Analyst for Wells Fargo Specialized Industries in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he performed credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management for the Healthcare, Higher Education, and Nonprofits team.
Originally from Tampa, Chase graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Chase currently serves as an Associate Director for the Triad Foundation, Inc. based in Ithaca, New York.
Shannon is licensed with the state of Florida as a certified public accountant. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University at Buffalo. Originally from Buffalo, New York, Shannon has lived in Tampa for over 15 years and calls it home.
Originally from New Jersey, Melissa moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2018 with her family. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami with a double major in Human Resource Management, and Business Management and Organization.
Prior to AGW, Jimmy worked as an associate in the Debt Products Group, where he performed credit analysis and portfolio underwriting for Regions Bank in Dallas, Texas.
Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Jimmy is a graduate of Sewanee: The University of the South, where he earned a degree in History, with honors. In addition, he received a Master of Arts in Management from Wake Forest University.
Prior to AGW, Kevin worked as an analyst in the JPMorgan Private Bank supporting the Central Florida market. He was primarily responsible for helping design solutions for clients through the implementation of managed portfolios using financial modeling, asset allocation, and portfolio construction strategies. Kevin then joined CliftonLarsonAllen, an accounting and professional services firm, where he assisted businesses on telecommunications and cyber security strategies.
Originally from the Central Florida area, Kevin moved to Tampa in 2016. Kevin attended the University of Florida where he earned degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems.
